Blocking is the means by which an administrator prevents a user account or IP address/range from editing the Trapped in the Closet Wiki. Blocks are preventive rather than punitive measures used to prevent damage by dealing with vandalism and enforcing Trapped in the Closet policies. Block duration may vary, depending on the severity and longevity of vandalism, but in most instances a block can be lifted if the editor agrees to stop the damaging behavior.
Grounds for blocking Edit
- Move vandalism
- Inappropriate account naming
- Copyright violations
- Blanking pages
- Posting personal information of others, or your own if under the age of 13
- Open proxies
- Editing only user pages and not articles (see Project:User page policy)
- Abuse of Trapped in the Closet's file upload function
- Violation of consensus
Block length guidelines Edit
With the exceptions noted above, blocks should usually progress according to the following table. Final discretion is left to the blocking administrator on a case-by-case basis.
|Regarding vandalism:||First instance||Second instance||Third instance||Repeated|
|Registered users||Warning||24 hours||One month||Infinite|
|IP addresses||Warning||72 hours||Three months||Infinite|
